Our world-leading research Our work covers: metamaterials; optical wireless communications; radio frequency and microwave systems; ultrafast electronics; ultrawideband communications; and photonics. We conduct the latest analysis into ultrawideband (UWB) communications and electromagnetics with current projects investigating the propagation of UWB signals in a variety of environments and development of wireless backplane technologies for small and medium scale electronics assemblies. From quantum photonics and metrology to super-resolution optical imaging, biophotonics, ultrafast spectroscopy, sensing, and laser processing, Oxford offers both a diverse range of expertise and a vibrant photonics community in which to study and work.
